No one likes a cop that lies. However, arbitration is part of the employee’s due process when that person feels he/she has not been treated fairly or there are mitigating circumstances.

Your legislation is based on the assumption that the investigation is not flawed and the Sheriff/Police Chief does not have an unspoken personal agenda. I worked for Ozzie. He has always indicated you are either for me or against me. In addition to Ozzie, I have worked for Sheriff Sterk, Goldman, Erickson, and Riley. They never complained of any of the problems Ozzie does, but they followed policy procedure and progressive discipline.
