The Spokane County Deputy Sheriff’s Association would like acknowledge the following members who have been recognized by Spokane County Sheriff's Office for their continued dedication and exemplary service to the citizens of Spokane County.

 

 

On January 17, 2011 Corporal Fox dismantled an explosive device by hand that was located on the Martin Luther King Day parade route. Corporal Fox placed himself at great risk, potentially saved countless lives, and preserved valuable evidence that enabled investigators to arrest the person responsible for the explosive device. His skill, dedication and courage are an asset to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department.

 

 

Awarded for the many years of outstanding work performance on behalf of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department. 

 

Sergeant Mark Nygren:

 

Awarded for his achievements beyond the course of his regular duties to implement improvements to the existing software systems within the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

 

On March 26, 2011 Deputy Lance saved the lives of children stranded in a sink-hole where they were unable to free themselves. 

 

On March 26, 2011 Deputy Miller saved the lives of children stranded in a sink hole where they were unable to free themselves.

 

 

Awarded for his intervention into a suicide attempt involving an individual hanging by his neck inside a garage.

 

 

Awarded for rescuing an unresponsive female from a garage, establishing an airway and providing rescue breaths until medical services arrived at the scene. 

 

 

Awarded for saving the life of an infant he found choking on a foreign object and was incapable of breathing. Deputy Pfeifer cleared the obstruction and the child was able to resume breathing on his own.
